We have scheduled our Annual Staff Development Training for Thursday and Friday March 26th and 27th. We will be closed at 12:30 on Thursday the 27th and all day Friday.
We have a babysitting night planned for Friday, February 27th from 6:00 to 10:30. We will provide dinner, snack and special activities for the children. There will be a sign up posted by the sign in sheets. Let us know if you have any questions.
The Sees Candy will be here no later then Thursday, February 5th. Thank you so much to the families that supported us! We will have one more sale for Easter and then be done until next Christmas with the Sees. All money raised goes toward Staff training and Week of the Young Child Activities.
In February we will be closed on Monday, February 16th for Presidents Day.
We will celebrate Valentines Day on the 13th. Children may bring cards to exchange if they would like to. Except for the butterflies the cards should be "signed" with the child's name but either addressed just 'to my friend" or left unaddressed. This lets the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars pass out their cards themselves. The butterflies may write there friends names on the cards for handwriting practice if they want.
In January we had The Assistance League of Sacramento out to Vision Screen the children. We also had visitors from Kids Care Dental to show proper brushing techniques, talk about ways to keep our teeth healthy and read books. (Take a look at the picture board by the front door).
A reminder that each month we are sending home a book order form. Scholastic offers a great selection of books at very reasonable prices. The school earns points so that we may increase our library too. Reading together is a wonderful way to strengthen reading skills and instill the love of reading for your child. We are asking for orders to be brought back to the school so we can keep track. Let us know if you have any questions.
February is a busy month for us. All preschool classes will be working on Ground hog day, Valentine's Day and friendship, Presidents Lincoln and Washington, Dental health and February is Black history month. Please look out for all our special projects.
The Infant and toddler groups have projects planned for Ground hog day, Valentine's day, Presidents day and dental health. Remember to check out all the hanging art and our poster boards around the rooms. Please send in an updated immunization record each time your child receives one. Thank you!
Share day for the butterflies is Thursday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items.Children will not be allowed to share these items. Thank you! Remember that children should not bring in toys or other items except on share day. These items can get lost or broken or cause hurt feelings. Thank you for your help in following this policy. Books or CD's are welcome any day.
We remind parents of our sick policy as stated in your parent handbook as the cold and flu season is upon us. Children may not be at school with (but not limited to) fever, vomiting, diarrhea or continuous cough. Children should be kept home for 24 full hours after being symptom free (without medication). We want parents to know what we are doing at the center to prevent the spread of illness. We are diligently sterilizing every classroom and it contents repeatedly through the day. We are keeping our air purifier on and our windows open for ventilation. Teachers continue to follow all guidelines for diaper changing and hand washing. Parents who are ill are asked to call us from the parking lot and we will bring your child and sign out sheets to you.
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. (But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) Also our wonderful neighbors @ Fresh & Quick Catering allow us to use their lot however they do ask that you use the spaces facing Riverside Blvd and not along the building or the fence separating our properties. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking lot.
Some meal reminders; we serve breakfast until 8:15, morning snack (between 9:30-10:00), lunch at 11:30 and afternoon snack (about 3:30). We ask that no outside food come into the center for individuals. Snacks for your child's class group are welcome. We remind you that we have a nut free school. Thank you for understanding these policies..
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
Remember to check coat racks for coats, jackets and sweaters you may have left. We have quite a collection right now. Please label all coats and sweaters.
Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill. Remember the full month's tuition is due even if your child misses some days due to vacation or illness.
