Thank you to all the families who supported our sees candy sale. The money raised from this sale (as with all our fundraisers) goes towards our Staff development training and Week of the Young Child activities & projects. We appreciate your support. We will also have an Easter sale.
We will be closed on Monday, February 17th in honor of President's Day. We have set the dates for Staff Development Training. We will be closing at 12:30 on Thursday, April 3rd and all day on Friday April 4th.
We remind all parents that our center is Nut free. If you are sending in snack for your child to share with his or her class please remember this. Also please remember no outside food for individual children.
February is a busy month. The children will talk about Chinese New Year, Ground Hog Day, Lincoln & Washington, Dental health, Black History, Dental health & the Olympics!
The Butterflies will be meeting @ 830 am on Tuesday, February 18th at the Greenhaven Pediatric Dental offices for a tour and talk with the dentist. This is a great way to enhance their discussions on dental health. Also remember that on March 20th the butterflies will be going to see Wizard of OZ at the Crest Theater. We will be meeting at 9:15 and must go in as a group. Following the performance we will picnic in Capitol Park.
Share day for the butterflies is Wednesday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items. Children will not be allowed to share these items. Thank you! Remember that children should not bring in toys or other items except on share day. These items can get lost or broken or cause hurt feelings. Thank you for your help in following this policy.
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. (But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) Also our wonderful neighbors @ Fresh & Quick Catering allow us to use their lot however they do ask that you use the spaces facing Riverside Blvd and not along the building or the fence separating our properties. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking area.
We remind families that the full month's tuition is due each month even if your child is away due to illness or vacation. Also a 30 day notice is required when removing your child from the program. Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill you. If you are not going to be here on the first please leave your check before so it is not late. We will not deposit before the first. For our 1/2 day students please remember that tuition is based on days your child is scheduled to be here even if the school is closed or your child misses for vacation or illness. Thank you. The center closes at 6:00 pm. There is $1.00 per minute charge per child for late pickups. This fee is due at that time and is paid directly to the teacher.
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
We ask that as the cold and flu season approaches that parents remember our sick policy as stated in your handbook. Children mustbe kept home with the any of the following but not limited to, fever, vomiting, diarrhea or continuous cough. We ask that children are symptom free with no medication for 24 full hours before returning to school. We will give prescription medicines only in there original containers with the child's name and dosage on it. If parents are not feeling well please feel free to call the school and ask us to bring your child and the sign out sheet out to the car. We have had sanitizer on the front sign in desk for adults. The staff is disinfecting classrooms and material throughout the day. We are enforcing the 24 hour illness free policy with our staff as well as the children. We encourage good hand washing practices.
Remember to check for coats and jackets, we are getting quite a collection. Please label all coats. We have some that are the same or look similar. Make sure all children have an extra set of clothes in his or her cubby. (More if potty training!) We don't want to have to call you if we need to change your child.
