Let us start this month's newsletter by first saying it is so hard to believe that another year has gone by. It is almost 2014 and it seems like we were all just talking about 2000. Then our entire staff want to give a huge thank you to our families for sharing your wonderful children with us. And finally we want to wish you and yours a wonderful and safe holiday season!
Our winter holiday sale for Sees candy is going on now. The orders are due Friday, Morning December 6th (order must be placed that day). The candy will be in the week of Dec 16th. The money raised from this sale (as with all our fundraisers) goes towards our Staff development training and Week of the Young Child activities & projects. There are extra order forms on the front sign in desk. We appreciate your support. We will also have Valentine's and Easter sales.
We will have our annual Winter holiday party on Wednesday, December 11th @ 3:15. Each class group will have a visit from Santa and sing songs for him. Parents are invited to join us. Anyone wanting to bring a plate of cookies to share is welcome to do so. (An in advance thank you to Jeff for his continued 'help' at our party.)
Over the Thanksgiving weekend we had the school completely cleaned. We had the school cleaned from top to bottom including moving every piece of furniture by Maria from 'Dust off,' the rugs were cleaned (and repaired) by Pat from Sacramento Rug Works and the floors were professionally striped and waxed.
We will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th, Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, Tuesday, December 31st and Wednesday, January 1st. Our next holidays are Martin Luther King's birthday and President's Day.
All the classes are working on Winter and the Winter holidays this month. We are busy making decorations, ornaments, cards and gifts. We have lots of holiday stories for Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza and winter. We are busy learning and singing holiday songs. Share day for the butterflies is Wednesday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items. Thank you!
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. (But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) Also our wonderful neighbors @ Fresh & Quick Catering allow us to use their lot however they do ask that you use the spaces facing Riverside Blvd and not along the building or the fence separating our properties. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking area.
We remind families that the full month's tuition is due each month even if your child is away due to illness or vacation. Also a 30 day notice is required when removing your child from the program. Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill you. If you are not going to be here on the first please leave your check before so it is not late. We will not deposit before the first. For our 1/2 day students please remember that tuition is based on days your child is scheduled to be here even if the school is closed or your child misses for vacation or illness. Thank you.
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
We ask that as the cold and flu season approaches that parents remember our sick policy as stated in your handbook. Children mustbe kept home with the any of the following but not limited to, fever, vomiting, diarrhea or continuous cough. We ask that children are symptom free with no medication for 24 full hours before returning to school. We will give prescription medicines only in there original containers with the child's name and dosage on it. If parents are not feeling well please feel free to call the school and ask us to bring your child and the sign out sheet out to the car. We have had sanitizer on the front sign in desk for adults. The staff is disinfecting classrooms and material throughout the day. We encourage good hand washing practices.
Remember to check for coats and jackets, we are getting quite a collection. Please label all coats. We have some that are the same or look similar. Make sure all children have an extra set of clothes in his or her cubby. (More if potty training!) We don't want to have to call you if we need to change your child.
