We have scheduled our Annual Staff Development Training for Thursday and Friday March 26th and 27th. We will be closed at 12:30 on Thursday the 27th and all day Friday
The Bees are working on Jungle Fun this month along with St Patrick's Day and the first day of spring. The Caterpillars are working on friendship, St Pats Day and the first day of spring. They continue to work on writing their names and letters. The butterflies are starting a project on TRAINS this month. They have special art projects, stories and activities planned around the topic. They have been brainstorming about what they know already about trains and what they want to learn. They will conclude the project with a trip to Davis on the train and then a train celebration. They are hard at work on Zoo-phonics. After they get to "Z" they will start talking about the vowels or as we call them the 'hardest working letters.'
We will have one more sale for Easter and then be done until next Christmas with the Sees. The order forms will go out during the first week of the month and will be due back on Thursday March 19th with payment in cash. The Candy should be back the following week. All money raised goes toward Staff training and Week of the Young Child Activities.
We thank all the parents who supported our babysitting night. We 'earned' enough for visits from Mr Cooper and Puppet art theater during The Week of the Young Child. Mr Cooper will be here Monday, April 13th @ 10:00 and Puppet Art Theater will be here Tuesday, April 14 @ 10:00. Parents are welcome to join us for either or both shows. We also invite parents in during The Week of the Young Child to read a book or do a project with their child's class. The Week of the Young Child. is April 13th through April 17th.
A reminder that each month we are sending home a book order form. Scholastic offers a great selection of books at very reasonable prices. The school earns points so that we may increase our library too. Reading together is a wonderful way to strengthen reading skills and instill the love of reading for your child. We are asking for orders to be brought back to the school so we can keep track. Let us know if you have any questions.
Share day for the butterflies is Thursday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items.Children will not be allowed to share these items. Thank you! Remember that children should not bring in toys or other items except on share day. These items can get lost or broken or cause hurt feelings. Thank you for your help in following this policy. Books or CD's are welcome any day.
We remind parents of our sick policy as stated in your parent handbook as the cold and flu season is upon us. Children may not be at school with (but not limited to) fever, vomiting, diarrhea or continuous cough. Children should be kept home for 24 full hours after being symptom free (without medication). We want parents to know what we are doing at the center to prevent the spread of illness. We are diligently sterilizing every classroom and it contents repeatedly through the day. We are keeping our air purifier on and our windows open for ventilation. Teachers continue to follow all guidelines for diaper changing and hand washing. Parents who are ill are asked to call us from the parking lot and we will bring your child and sign out sheets to you.
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. (But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) Also our wonderful neighbors @ Fresh & Quick Catering allow us to use their lot however they do ask that you use the spaces facing Riverside Blvd and not along the building or the fence separating our properties. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking lot.
Some meal reminders; we serve breakfast until 8:15, morning snack (between 9:30-10:00), lunch at 11:30 and afternoon snack (about 3:30). We ask that no outside food come into the center for individuals. This includes at breakfast time. Snacks for your child's class group are welcome. We remind you that we have a nut free school. Thank you for understanding these policies.
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
Remember to check coat racks for coats, jackets and sweaters you may have left. We have quite a collection right now. Please label all coats and sweaters. We will be placing all unclaimed coats on a table for parents to go through then on March 18th we will take any remaining coats to Goodwill.
Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill. Remember the full month's tuition is due even if your child misses some days due to vacation or illness.
