We have started transitioning children to their new classrooms. The staff works together to make these changes as smooth as possible for the children. We have the children visit their new group with a friend multiple times before changes are made permanent. Keep in mind that not all children change classes. Preschool classes are usually set up with children who will go to kindergarten at the same time. If you have any questions please let us know.
We will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in honor of Independence Day. Enjoy the long weekend. Our next holidays are Monday, September 7th and then Monday, October 12th.
If you have not done so already and would like sunscreen applied to your child please make sure to send in a bottle. We ask that parents apply it in the morning before school and we will apply in the afternoon before they go outside.
A few reminders: 1.} Please remember to sign your child in and out every day. (We don't want to call you to come back) 2.} All infant & toddlers need to bring in updated immunization records. 3.} Please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to. 4.} All children must have a change of clothes left at school daily. 5.} Children are not allowed to wear shoes with out back on them.
The Butterflies are working on "The Beach" this month. The 2015 Butterflies continue to work with Zoo-phonics and the kindergarten prep. The new butterflies are getting used to the new routine and schedule. They will start the zoo-phonics program over in September when everyone is together.
The Caterpillars are working on transportation this month. We will be talking about the different ways to get some where. They will be making planes, trains, cars, boats, bikes and hot air balloons. If you have books relating to the subject they are always welcome and appreciated.
The bumble bees will be working on 'summer fun' this month. They will be making sun visors, beach balls, sunglasses as well as making home made Popsicles and strawberry banana smoothies. They will be working on the letters "D" and "E." If your child is in the process of potty training please make sure to have about 6 complete changes of clothes and one extra pair of shoes.
The Lady bugs and Grasshoppers will also have projects planned for summer fun and beach themes.
A reminder that each month we are sending home a book order form. Scholastic offers a great selection of books at very reasonable prices. The school earns points so that we may increase our library too. Reading together is a wonderful way to strengthen reading skills and instill the love of reading for your child. We are asking for orders to be brought back to the school so we can keep track. Let us know if you have any questions.
Share day for the butterflies is Thursday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items.Children will not be allowed to share these items. Thank you! Remember that children should not bring in toys or other items except on share day. These items can get lost or broken or cause hurt feelings. Thank you for your help in following this policy. Books or CD's are welcome any day.
We remind parents of our sick policy as stated in your parent handbook as the cold and flu season is upon us. Children may not be at school with (but not limited to) fever, vomiting, diarrhea or continuous cough. Children should be kept home for 24 full hours after being symptom free (without medication). We want parents to know what we are doing at the center to prevent the spread of illness. We are diligently sterilizing every classroom and it contents repeatedly through the day. We are keeping our air purifier on and our windows open for ventilation. Teachers continue to follow all guidelines for diaper changing and hand washing. Parents who are ill are asked to call us from the parking lot and we will bring your child and sign out sheets to you.
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) You may also park in the lot to the south of the school. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking lot.
Some meal reminders; we serve breakfast until 8:15, morning snack (between 9:30-10:00), lunch at 11:30 and afternoon snack (about 3:30). We ask that no outside food come into the center for individuals. This includes at breakfast time. Snacks for your child's class group are welcome. We remind you that we have a nut free school. Thank you for understanding these policies.
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill. And as summer approaches remember the full month's tuition is due even if your child misses some days due to vacation or illness. Our costs do not change because a child is gone for a week. We also remind parents that there is a 30 day notice required when removing your child from the center.
