The city is still replacing the water main in the neighborhood. For the most part they are done on Riverside Blvd but there could be some days that part of the road will be closed. You will be able to get to the school by going all the way down Seamus until it ends at Piedmont, turn right and then come down either Casiliada or Apollo.
A reminder that each month we will be sending home a book order form. Scholastic offers a great selection of books at very reasonable prices. The school earns points so that we may increase our library too. Reading together is a wonderful way to strengthen reading skills and instill the love of reading for your child. We are asking for orders to be brought back to the school so we can keep track. Let us know if you have any questions.
Our holidays for the rest of 2014 are November 11 (Veteran's Day), Thanksgiving Holidays (November 26th @ 12:30, all day on November 27th and 28th), Christmas Holidays (December 24th, 25th & 26th), New Year's Eve (December 31st). We will be closed on Martin Luther King Day in January also.
The preschooler classes are working on Thanksgiving, Native Americans and pilgrims this month. We will have a feast on Wednesday, November 12 to celebrate. We will have roast turkey with all the trimmings. The children will make hats and place mats as part of the celebration.
The Infant and toddler groups are also working on Thanksgiving and related topics this month. The lady bugs and grass hoppers have a daily circle with singing, finger plays stories and a time to learn colors and counting. Please remember to send in immunization updates every time your child receives one. Thank you.
Share day for the butterflies is Thursday. Share for the Bumble Bees and Caterpillars is Tuesday. Remember NO weapons or super hero or related items.Children will not be allowed to share these items. Thank you! Remember that children should not bring in toys or other items except on share day. These items can get lost or broken or cause hurt feelings. Thank you for your help in following this policy. Books or CD's are welcome any day.
When dropping off or picking up your child please remember to pull in from the north driveway and park so that 2 cars can fit side by side. (But please allow enough space for the gate to open.) Also our wonderful neighbors @ Fresh & Quick Catering allow us to use their lot however they do ask that you use the spaces facing Riverside Blvd and not along the building or the fence separating our properties. During their business hours please do not use Japanese Service Center's parking lot.
Some meal reminders we serve breakfast until 8:15, morning snack (between 9:30-10:00), lunch at 11:30 and afternoon snack (about 3:30). We ask that no outside food come into the center for individuals. Snacks for your child's class group are welcome. We remind you that we have a nut free school. Thank you for understanding these policies..
We remind parents to please keep all work, home and cell phone numbers updated. This is for parents and any other contacts you have listed for us. It is really important that we be able to reach you if we need to.
Remember to check coat racks for coats, jackets and sweaters you may have left. We have quite a collection right now. Please label all coats and sweaters.
Tuition is due on the first of each month. We do not bill. Remember the full month's tuition is due even if your child misses some days due to vacation or illness.
